This post that you're reading right now is my official one hundredth post.  And I don't want to be cliche and cheesy, but this is a very special occasion for me.  And why's that?

If you didn't already know, last summer, I lost all of my Google accounts.  Yes, all of them.  Know what that means?  The thousands of pictures shared on my Picasa and on my blogs all went away.  I had almost been blogging for a year, and I had forty nine followers, over one hundred posts.  I had over one hundred albums on my Picasa, and lots and lots of followers {I don't even KNOW how many}.  Then, all that hard work was deleted forever.

Creating new blogs and a new Picasa account was something that I was almost scared of.  I didn't want to have to start over, I wanted to go back to my blog with the almost-fifty followers and my Picasa with some photography that I was so very proud of.  But I knew that nothing better would come from me totally leaving the face of the internet-world.  And so I made The Demi-God Dancer, and that is the blog you're reading now.

But look at my blog now!  I'm so, SO, proud of it.  I have forty three amazing followers, and over six THOUSAND pageviews.  I can't thank you guys enough for getting me to this pointe.  I love you all so much.  <3

So, to see how my blog and I have progressed, how about you see every header I've EVER had on this blog!  :D

This was my very first header on this blog!  These are a couple of my favorite pictures, then AND now! ;]

I really like this one!  :]  Cute pictures and a bunch of text.  :]

These two are basically the same, but I changed pictures.  ;]  So, these are my holiday headers!  :D  Which one do {or did} you prefer?

This is probably my least-favorite header, as it's very boring and the picture quality lessened because of how I re-sized it.  But still!  XD  This is my first Truly, Utterly, Carolyn header!

I didn't have this header for too long, but I REALLY like it.  The color scheme was really cute!

And here's my current header!  This one might be my favorite. :]  These are my favorite colors, so . . . yeah.  XD

Well, I just want to thank all of you so, SO, much for getting me here.  I love each and every one of you, and . . . thank you for following my blog, I couldn't have done it without you.

Love, Love, Love,
Carolyn

2011 has Gone

I can't believe 2011 is already gone . . . it's been a great, beautiful year.  :)  There have been tough, difficult, times, but I do have to say that 2011 is one of the best years of my life.  2010 was full of bullying and drama, and 2011 was full of friendship and truly finding who I want to be friends with, where I fit in, and who I am.

None of these pictures are water-marked, but PLEASE do not take them!
Photography became a passion this year.  I found out ways to change the alright photos of a simple pointe-and-shoot camera to something people comment on, something people enjoy, and something I find extremely awesome and are proud of.

I took on the challenge of NaNoWriMo, set my goal as 9,000 words and finished with over 11,000.  It was an amazing experience, I met a lot of fun people and had fun writing my heart out!

I enjoyed traveling with my family, especially to Okoboji.

2011 was an amazing year that I loved immensely.  :)  Thank you to all of my friends, fans, and followers.  I love you all so much and this post wouldn't have been possible without you!  ♥

Snow

You know, I am just now noticing how often we take the little things that make life special for granted.  How did I start feeling this way?  Well, it all started with the weather.

Today is a GORGEOUS day outside.  Two of my neighbors {they're boys and both in third grade} were outside, playing basketball.  They were BOTH wearing shorts and weren't cold.  I should be ecstatic, it's BEAUTIFUL outside!  But I want snow, Christmas will be so different without it.

I was thinking to myself, "I really love snow."  I usually say I hate it because of the cold and the mess.  But really, truly, snow is gorgeous and beautiful.  Think of all those little snowflakes piling up and making those feet of snow.  Did you know that all of those snowflakes look different?  Not one is alike.

In that way, they're like people.  Not a single person is alike, and together, we can amount to more.

So, even if you think this sounds cheesy, just think a little.  You'll notice how the little things-the little snowflakes in your life-make life extremely special.

Of Friendship {{Thanks}}

You know, I have been posting more often, and I've had this blog since summer, and I would've had my old blog for over a year by now {so I've been a blogger for a year!}, but I've never really told you who my friends were, so . . . how about I do!

Through my wonderful time on Blogger, Picasa, Google Buzz, Google Plus, and American Girl Fan Message Board, I've met some wonderful people.  Let's start with the first two people I've met.

One of the first people I met was none other than Quinlyn.  She was on so many of the websites that I had joined, but I first met her on Picasa after reading her blog.  I had also befriended her on the American Girl Fan Message Board.  We became quick friends and are definitely still close!

I met Jasmine VERY quickly on the American Girl Fan Message Board.  I remember when I first posted, sharing about who I was, and how she was one of the first people to comment.  Although that post was deleted, I remember that she said, "Yay!  More dance buddies!"  We were friends right away, and are even closer now.

Now, let us talk about some friends that weren't the first, but are extremely close. :)

One of my best online friends in the whole world is Zaidia, or as I call her, Jeniqua {or Iqua.  XD}.  We write together, we go on TinyChat, we CHAT LIKE CARAZY on Gmail, and we're  just . . . best friends and junk.

Another one of my best online friends is Britts.  Gosh I love this girl.  We are twins separated at birth, bloggers, Irish dancers, authors, readers, Horrible Histories lovers, Anne Frank fans, and so much more.  We've been super uper close for a really long time.  :)

Yet another amazing best online buddy is Ellie.  We haven't been friends for as long as I have with most of the girls listed, but we're still super close.  We're authors, Irish dancers, Percy Jackson lovers, and just AWESOME LIKE THAT.  XD  We chat all the time and it feels like I've known her forever.  I tell her a lot.  XD

How can I forget Iona?  We've been friends for quite some time now, but we became really close over the summer.  We're authors, readers, Percy Jackson lovers, and-again-JUST AWESOME LIKE THAT!

Here's to a friend not many of you know, Ghillie.  She was/is on the American Girl Fan Message Board, and we've been friends since I joined.  We have so much in common, Irish dancing being the main.  We talk and talk about it!  She and I have been private messaging back and forth since this summer.  She's a very close friend and an amazing girl.  <3

Lastly, Kellee.  Kelleis such an awesome girl.  :)  She always comments on my blog and her blog is just lovely.  We've been PM'ing on the AGFMB a lot lately and I've really grown close to her.

So, thank you SO MUCH to all of these friends.  I did not make this post to try to offend anyone, and if you are not listed I hope you are not offended.  I apologize if you are.  But truly, all of you are my friends.  :)

Thanks ;)

{{A response to Hannah's post.}}

Okay, I started writing this yesterday, so . . . yeah. XD  I didn't have a chance to finish because of having relatives over, I was planning to write more.  I apologize. :P

I woke up this morning to light streaming in from my translucent curtains and smells of turkey, vegetable, and ham wafting through the air.  I quickly reminded myself that it was Thanksgiving.  My relatives were probably on their way to be here right now.  A smile spread across my face.  I gazed at the clock tiredly, seeing 8:50.  I was tired, so I closed my eyes for ten minutes, got out of bed, and began walking towards the kitchen.

"Good morning!" my mom and dad chorused.

I smiled.  "Good morning," I repeated groggily.

"Happy Thanksgiving!" my dad told me.

"Yes, happy Thanksgiving!" said my mom, capturing me in a hug.

  "Happy Thanksgiving!" I repeated again.

I then made my descent down the stairs to get ready to type up this very post, the post where I post {man, lots of posts!} things that I am thankful for.  So, here I go!

  1. My family: I don't know where I'd be and what I'd do without them.  I love them SO much and am so grateful to have such a wonderful family. ♥
  2. My friends: The family I get to choose.  ;)  I absolutely love these people.
  3. My house: Not everyone has a nice house, a nice bedroom, nice cars, and nice things overall {such as couches, chairs, desks, computers, etc.}.  I am really blessed.
  4. Food: I am very lucky to be served food whenever I need it or be able to go out and get food to eat.
  5. Dance: I am EXTREMELY blessed that my parents allow me to dance and they pay for it.  I don't know what I'd do if I couldn't dance!  I am also extremely blessed that I get payed for working at dance.
  6. Education: I am very lucky that my parents send me to school and I can get an education and eventually go to a good college.
  7. The internet: It's kind of stupid, but I really LOVE the internet.  I love how I can write, read, draw, and interact with people from all around the world that I can call FRIENDS.
  8. This blog: Gosh, you don't know how much this means to me.  After my blogs were deleted, I didn't know if I would ever earn back my followers or my views, but I'm getting there.  I know I have the same amount {if not more} of followers that I had around this time of year last year.  :)
  9. American Girl: American Girl is so amazing.  It's a creative outlet and a great way to meet new friends, through the internet AND in real life!  I am so grateful to have my four gorgeous dollies.  ;)
  10. The American Girl Fan Message Board: Through this amazing, wonderful, spectacular, message board, I have met amazing girls, learned to love my dolls EVEN more, fall more in love with dance than already, and even get closer to God.  The American Girl community is so warm and welcoming, I am very happy to be a part of it!
  11. NaNoWriMo: Man, NaNoWriMo is SERIOUSLY one of the best things I have ever done.  I wrote like a maniac, and accomplished my goal of 9,000 words, then went on to do over 2,000 more words!  :D  Through the forums I have met lovely people that I really have enjoyed getting to know.
  12. Music: The world would be rather dismal and depressing without music.  I listen to music when I write, when I do homework, when I'm bored, when I dance, and even more!  It's a way to bond with family in the car, those hours of driving to and from dance with my mom, singing together.
  13. Instruments: I'm very lucky my parents let me play the French horn and piano.  They are a large part of my life and I enjoy them both immensely.  :)
  14. Books: Man, what would I do without books?  I love to read them, AND write them!
  15. Pointe shoes: Go ahead and call me crazy, but I absolutely ADORE pointe shoes.  There's just something about them that makes you feel beautiful and elegant.
  16. Ghillies: My Irish dance shoes are too special not to include on here!
  17. Tap shoes: Loud, clear, sounds coming out of these normal-looking shoes . . . so beautiful.  :)
  18. My classes: The dance classes I teach . . . oh, I love these little girls!
  19. My room: I love my room.  It's bursting with inspiration and color.
  20. My desk: I just rearranged it yesterday and cleaned it and such, and I'm really happy with how it turned out!
  21. Snow globes: If you didn't already know, I collect snow globes.  :)
  22. Clothes: I love the clothes I have, and feel really lucky to have them.  Not everyone is so lucky.
  23. My teachers: My teachers this year are pretty great.  I really enjoy them and my classes!
  24. Hot chocolate: This time of year, I love to sit around and sip hot cocoa.
  25. Cameras: Whenever I see a DSLR, I clutch my mom's arm and say, "LOOK AT THAT PRETTY CAMERA!"  Hehe, hint hint.  ;)
  26. Holidays: Holidays are so much fun, being with family, huge meals, and giving thanks.
  What are you thankful for?

Blessed ♥

You know, I'm a HUGE fan of watching American Girl videos on YouTube.  When I watch these videos of my favorite girls on YouTube saying that they're leaving, they're taking a break, etc. it's often either because they have received so much hate that they can't stand it, or they are loosing interest in dolls, but touch upon that they have had some hurtful and bad memories from YouTube.  Most of these girls have at least 1,000 subscribers.

I think about my internet life.  It's always been good and happy, although I've had one cyber bully and all of my accounts have been lost, it's nothing too bad.  I can get over it, and it's nothing that has made me want to leave such an amazing community of like-minded people.  :')  I feel extremely blessed.

Why, you ask?  Because I'm not popular.  With popularity comes hate.  For an example, take Ali/girloftheyearstudios.  She is EXTREMELY popular on YouTube, but {if you watch her videos or read her blog, you'll know about this} she, recently especially, has received a whole boat load of hate.  Why?  She was stating facts.  Just because one of the most popular American Girl YouTubers states something about another YouTuber, people make it controversial.  It's really stupid, and Ali was really just stating facts that were true, not things like, "I hate this girl because she always yells at people!"  She can back up the things she spoke about.

But moving on from that, I feel really blessed that I have never received a hateful comment and that I have such a wonderful group of girls that love me, and I love them, too.

Just take some time and realized how blessed our group of bloggers are.  We might get a rude comment every once in a while, but not 24/7.  Our experiences are pretty happy, let's make it happy for everyone.
