Happy Easter!

Picture taken on my phone!
Happy Easter everyone!  I hope that everyone has had a great Easter so far, I know I have!  We didn't do anything extremely out of the ordinary for Easter this year, but that's fine with me!  Easter's not about the extravagant things you do, it's about being oh so thankful for Jesus and knowing what love is.  It's about being with family and carrying on traditions that have been in your family for who-knows-how-long.

  So, since this post is rather short so far, I thought I might as well tell you about what I did today!  So, I woke up early to a large amount of candy and some new running clothes, and I was very thankful for that!  :)  Then I went to church with my family as we always do on Easter Sunday, but we had my aunt and uncle with us also, so that was a bit of a change, but a good one.  After church we headed out to go to my grandparent's house like we do every year, as well!  We basically ate way too much, talked a lot, took pictures, laughed, and had an overall very good time!  Oh, and my cousin painted my nails because she got new nail polish for Easter.  XD  Then we came home and now I've been catching up on blogs, videos, and the like while eating the aforementioned candy.

Turquoise and Caicos by Essie, if you were wondering!

  So, that was my Easter!  Very simple, but I really liked it nonetheless.  How was your Easter?

Carolyn

Merry Christmas Eve Eve! {{2012}}

  Merry Christmas Eve Eve, everyone!  {{Or the day before Christmas Eve, if all of my eves are confusing you.}}  I can NOT believe that TOMORROW is Christmas Eve, and the next day is CHRISTMAS!  It's crazy to think that I wrote a post on this day exactly one year ago, and also exactly TWO years ago {although that post was lost with my old blog}.  It's becoming a tradition, and I think I quite like it.

  Christmas Eve Eve has been a good day, a day of both relaxation and preparation.  We're getting our meals all sorted out for Christmas Eve and Christmas day, baking cookies for family gatherings, and just generally being excited for Christmas, of course!

  Good smells are wafting through the house, tickling my nose.  Snow is lying on the ground, obviously staying put for quite some time.  These little scenes just make Christmas seem like it's really here, just waiting for the official day where it can come out and make its grand entrance.  There's no hiding that everyone in this household is most definitely excited for that day.

  These kinds of days make good days for reading, especially reading Christmas-y books.  I mean, who wouldn't want to curl up by the Christmas tree, a warm blanket covering your toes, hot cocoa sitting next to you, and read Little Women?  Sounds good to me!

  So I know I have written this post all . . . seriously, I guess, but I did just have to say that I AM SO EXTREMELY SUPERLY DUPERLY EXCITED RIGHT NOW.

. . .

not.even.kidding.

  I'm going to be doing some vlogging on Christmas Eve and Christmas day, too, so I hope you guys head over to my YouTube channel on those days and check out the videos!

  Hope all of you guys have had an AWESOME holiday season and winter break so far, and that it just keeps on getting better!

xoxo,
Carolyn

Happy Birthday to Me!

  Yesterday, I turned a whole year older.  :]  I've never been quite so old in my life!  XD

  I had an absolutely awesome birthday.  :]  On Friday, I had six of my best friends over, and we just hung out all night. :3  We listened to music, Gangnam Style'd, played Apples to Apples, made pizzas, ate cupcakes, opened presents, and just had fun being the awkward girls we are! XD

  So, they all the spent the night, and on Saturday we went to our local coffee shop and all got a frozen drink of our choice.  ;]  Then we went shopping downtown, which was lots of fun!  :D

  Well, I was extremely tired yesterday, due to the fact that we stayed up . . . quite late.  XD  We all fell asleep at different times, but I was the last one to fall asleep, and I just so happened to fall asleep at around 4:00 in the morning.  LUCKY ME!  XD  Then we got to get up at 8:00 to get ready to leave.  Oodles of fun!  XD

  We took the girls home at 11:30, and the rest of the day was spent however I wished.  So, we opened presents, and I received some absolutely awesome presents from my family.  :]  I am so thankful for them all!  We also went out to eat for supper, which was very yummy!  ;]

  Now, along with my birthday comes . . . MY YOUTUBE CHANNEL!  :D

  Yes, I finally got one!  I'll be posting vlogs, random videos, dance videos, and anything else I feel the need/want to post!  ;]  So, I really hope you subscribe to my channel!  :3

{{I'm also sorry if I'm disappointing anyone by saying that I'm not going to be making American Girl videos.  I've lost quite a large bit of my interest, so . . . yeah.}}

  And this part's off-topic, but I got Taylor Swift's Red CD, and I am ADORING it!  :D  I'm not really a "Swifty", but this CD might make me become one, honestly!  I really recommend y'alls get this CD.  :3

  Well, I had an absolutely amazing birthday, and I wouldn't trade any of these memories for the world.

xoxo,
Carolyn

Goodbye, October!

  So, I haven't posted in a long while . . . eek.  I apologize.  XP  I last posted at the BEGINNING of October, and today's Halloween, or otherwise known as the last day of October.  I really am extremely sorry, guys.  But I do hope you forgive me!

  So, October was a rather good month!  Full of fall colors, smells, sights, and sounds.  :]  My dad's birthday was the 19th and my brother's birthday was 24th, and they're both A YEAR OLDER!  :O  That's the oldest they've ever been!  :D  I've had lotsandlots of dance, which is AWESOME.  :3  And for Halloween, I didn't dress up, but I do have a costume to wear . . . for our Halloween dance TOMORROW!  <3

  So, I am very really extremely excited for November!  Let's compile a list of great things that will happen once November is here!

NaNoWriMo!

NaNoWriMo is starting tomorrow, and I'm going to try my absolute hardest to achieve my goal of 25,000 words!  :D  I'm writing the sequel to my first NaNoWriMo book, The Fall of Olympus: Storm!  :3  I'm really utterly excited to become re-acquainted with all my lovely characters!  :]

The Fall Dance!

Tomorrow is also the day of my first school dance of the year!  :]  It's a fall/Halloween dance, and there's a costume contest!  :D  I'm dressing up in an extremely comfy costume that's quite original, if I do say so myself.  ;]  What is it, you ask?

  And if you guessed Harry Potter, you're wrong.  Who else wears circular, black, glasses?

. . .

WHERE'S WALDO, OF COURSE!  :D

  So yes, I am very excited for the dance.  I'll be slow dancing with my lovely friends, because we're all #foreveralone.  XD  {{#hashtagswag #hashtagsdontbelongonblogsbutidontcare}}

TAKE ME HOME AND REACHED!

The new One Direction CD comes out on November 13, and I am COUNTING DOWN THE DAYS!  Ahhh, so excited, as I am me, the obsessive fangirl Directioner!  :D Which reminds me, my Jack-o-Lantern this year was the 1D symbol.  ;D

And also on the 13th, Reached by Allie Condie-the third book in the Crossed series-is coming out!  I can't wait for this, either!  <3

MY BIRTHDAY!  {{And my mom's.  XD}}

I am SO excited for my birthday!  November 17th, only 17 days away!  :]  We're having our family birthday party this weekend, and my birthday party with friends will be on the 16th and 17th!  :D

My mom's birthday is on the 30th, too!  :D  We're both November birthdays!  ;]

~ ~ ~

  So, I've got a LOT to look forward to in November, and that's not even all of it!  :3  November's going to be a good month.  I can just feel it.(:

Simplicity

This summer, I spent some time with family that I don't see as often as I see my close family.  My dad's aunts and uncles and cousins, family from Texas, and people that I don't even quite comprehend my relation to them.  But honestly, it was a lovely time.

We spent quite a lot of the time on the farm.  It's not the one my dad grew up in, but it's still a fun place to be, full of places to explore with my little cousins as they held the kittens that they found and adored.

It was a simple time, with little technology and lots of laughter.  There was always a little pair of running feet, giggles, and lots of love.

I feel like one of those popular bloggers, posting about those "lovely", simple, amazing experiences.  But it's really something that I loved, and that I felt the need to post about.

Hope you enjoyed, beautifuls.  <3

xx,
Carolyn

{{This is a really different post from my normal . . . I felt more like writing than I did "journaling" about my day, I guess you could say.  ;]}}

Well, Hello There, Summer!

  Oh my gosh.  It's HOT outside.

Screenshot taken from Weather.com a few moments ago.

  So, as you can tell, summer is very much here!  I am actually currently sitting outside on the patio, right by my pool deck.  Like, really, the pool is RIGHT THERE.  Oy vey, it's hot out.  O.O

  So anyways, I'm not doing anything today, really.  I made a video that I have yet to download onto my computer, edit, etc.  It'll probably be REALLY long.  XD  Ah well, I might not even upload it onto my blog or Picasa or anything anyways!  ;]

{{I then return back inside to enjoy air conditioning again!}}

  But my oh-so exciting {note the sarcasm ;]} plans for the day include:

--Reading
--Photographing
--Polyvore-ing
--Good Reads-ing
--Reading blogs
--Attending my brother's baseball game
--Lazing about

  Yep, just a hot, lazy, summer day for me.  :]

Lots of Love,
Carolyn

SpLaSh!

  It's HOT out today.  And by hot, I mean 90 degree weather hot.  Actually, Weather.com says it feels like 94 degrees, and it's true!  XD

  So, my brother and I naturally decided to swim.  The water was SO nice, nearly 80 degrees, so it was refreshing, not too cold or too warm!  :]  I was very thankful to have the pool, too, or else I'd have to be inside all day, not even knowing about the awesome summer weather!

  Yep, I love summer weather.  It's just SO awesome!  Whenever I see that it's going to be hot out, I get happy.  Why?  It really feels like summer.  Officially, actually, summer.  And summer is such a fun time, full of friends, family, sprinklers, bright colors, blue skies, dotted with puffy white clouds, warm nights, pool parties, sleepovers, fireworks, vacation, and some really awesome picture taking opportunities.

  Speaking of vacations, I am going to be gone on a vacation starting the 20th.  I'll be returning on the 22nd, so it's not too long, but that's all good.  ;]  I'll probably schedule some posts for you guys to read, and when I get back I'll post pictures.  :]  Sound like a plan?

  Oh!  I wanted to tell you that I guest posted over at Summer Breeze today, as Rachel isn't able to post at the time.  I had lots of fun!  So, please check out my post and the rest of the blog, too!  :D

  Well, happy summer everyone.  <3

Yolk's on Me

  Don't'cha love my AMAZING title?  I had originally titled it the generic, "Happy Easter!" And so I changed it.  XD

  ANYWAYS!  Today is an amazing day, no?  :]  Jesus really does love all of us, always has and always will.  So, thank you so much, Jesus.  I love you so much!  <3

  So, today has been a great day!  I spent the majority of it at my grandparents' house with most of my mom's side of the family!  Woot, woot!  We sat out in the sun, and ate way too much food, and turned a year-old cake shaped as a lamb into a reindeer.  Yes, my family is lovely.

  As us cousins sat and ate today, we had a conversation about how bunnies and eggs resemble Easter.  Quote my cousin Maggie: "Why isn't it the Easter Horse?"  My brother nods and replies, "I could really picture the Easter Horse."  OH FAMILY.

  So, today was amazing.  I rode my bike when I got home.  Fun stuff.

To Read and Shopping

  Today, after I went shopping, I decided to re-make my "To Read" list.

  What is a to read list, you ask?  Well, it's pretty simple.  Instead of a to do list, it's what I want to read {in order! ;)}  When today and got a new book, so that was my reason.  ;)

Oh books.  <3
  So, I went shopping today.  I ONLY went to Delia's, because it's my favorite store and I really wanted to go there.  XD  I got what I needed {an outfit for spring pictures at school}, plus two graphic tees {one of them being the owl shirt from the "Love is Owl You'll Need" outfit I posted}, one crocheted top, a tank top, some camis, and THESE WONDERFUL PIECES OF JEWLERY!

  FINALLY!  A camera necklace!  :D

  And an OWL RING!  Heck yes.

  So, lots of pictures, not too many words.  Not too much to post about!

  Going back to posting whatever sign-out I want to say, so . . .

I Love OWL of You,
Carolyn

Merry Christmas Eve Eve!

  Yup, MERRY CHRISTMAS EVE EVE!  :D

  Goodness, how many of you old folks that have stuck with me since Snow Globes in my Wardrobe remember when I made a Merry Christmas Eve Eve post . . . if you do, BY GOLLY, comment!  XD  If only I had the link to share with you.  Stupid Google.

  BUT OKAY.  Yesterday I went to a Christmas party at 7:00 because IT WAS OUR LAST DAY OF SCHOOL FOR THE YEAR!  :D  Yup, we're on Christmas break!  But the Christmas part was SO fun!  I fell asleep while we were watching A Christmas Story {{WHICH IS-LIKE-THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIE EVER!}} at around 2:30-2:45.  It was a REALLY fun party, even though it left me tired and feeling sick from too much sugar!

  But I am just so excited for Christmas.  :)  I am wondering and wondering and WONDERING what I'll be getting for Christmas, because I really haven't a clue.  I'm guessing I have one out of the three big things I asked for, which are:

-A DSLR
-A Flip Video Camera
-An iPod Touch

  Then everything else is a mystery.  XD

  But I'm excited to travel out of the state to see family this break, and see family on Christmas day, too.  :)

  Life-right now-is really, REALLY, good.  :)

Yawns and Stuffs

    HIYA THERE.  HOW ARE MY LOVELIES?!  :D

. . . **awkward** . . .

  But SHALOM!  :D  I'm in a sort of odd mood, probably still tired.  I'm sure you're all like, "OHH EMM GEE, CARO, WHY ARE YOU TIRED?!"  And so I tell you.  And if you're NOT all like that, then . . . well, GET LIKE THAT.

  I was just at a friend's house for a sleepover with two other friends.  We stayed up pretty late, looking at lots of videos on YouTube and playing the Wii, because we're just so easily entertained.  XD

  We were mostly watching "You Laugh, You Lose" videos {{eh kay eh, "Don't Laugh" videos}}.  You know, most of them aren't that funny, yet I totally and completely cracked up when I was watching one.  Yeah, no idea WHY, but I laughed extremely hard at a dancing crocodile from Peter Pan.  I'm a normal child.

  Well, we stayed up pretty late {not too bad for a sleepover with three girls-counting me}, just to about 3:00.  :P  We were talking A LOT and pairing up people in our classes, but-of course-Makenna conked out before that conversation even STARTED.  Thanks Kenna, for being interested.

  So, I tried to fall asleep.  Of course, I couldn't, it's just LIKE ME.  :P  So, really late/really early in the morning, I called my mom, just saying I couldn't sleep.  It didn't help that my friends showed me some extremely fake, yet kind of creepy, videos!  {{I don't like being scared, let me tell you that.}}  I finally fell asleep around four in the morning, and got up around eight in the morning!  FUN.

  So, that's enough of that.  Let us talk about CHRISTMAS!

  Again, I AM SO EXCITED!  My parents are currently Christmas shopping, actually!  :D  My mom told me this morning that they weren't predicting any snow for this year's Christmas, and . . . I am extremely sad.  :(  But, after all, Christmas isn't about presents, snow, and mistletoe {HAHAHA I RHYMED!}, it's about the birth of Christ the Lord, our savior.  :)  Without him, we wouldn't be Here today.

Thanks ;)

{{A response to Hannah's post.}}

  Okay, I started writing this yesterday, so . . . yeah. XD  I didn't have a chance to finish because of having relatives over, I was planning to write more.  I apologize. :P

  I woke up this morning to light streaming in from my translucent curtains and smells of turkey, vegetable, and ham wafting through the air.  I quickly reminded myself that it was Thanksgiving.  My relatives were probably on their way to be here right now.  A smile spread across my face.  I gazed at the clock tiredly, seeing 8:50.  I was tired, so I closed my eyes for ten minutes, got out of bed, and began walking towards the kitchen.

  "Good morning!" my mom and dad chorused.

  I smiled.  "Good morning," I repeated groggily.

  "Happy Thanksgiving!" my dad told me.

  "Yes, happy Thanksgiving!" said my mom, capturing me in a hug.

  "Happy Thanksgiving!" I repeated again.

  I then made my descent down the stairs to get ready to type up this very post, the post where I post {man, lots of posts!} things that I am thankful for.  So, here I go!

  1. My family: I don't know where I'd be and what I'd do without them.  I love them SO much and am so grateful to have such a wonderful family. ♥
  2. My friends: The family I get to choose.  ;)  I absolutely love these people.
  3. My house: Not everyone has a nice house, a nice bedroom, nice cars, and nice things overall {such as couches, chairs, desks, computers, etc.}.  I am really blessed.
  4. Food: I am very lucky to be served food whenever I need it or be able to go out and get food to eat.
  5. Dance: I am EXTREMELY blessed that my parents allow me to dance and they pay for it.  I don't know what I'd do if I couldn't dance!  I am also extremely blessed that I get payed for working at dance.
  6. Education: I am very lucky that my parents send me to school and I can get an education and eventually go to a good college.
  7. The internet: It's kind of stupid, but I really LOVE the internet.  I love how I can write, read, draw, and interact with people from all around the world that I can call FRIENDS.
  8. This blog: Gosh, you don't know how much this means to me.  After my blogs were deleted, I didn't know if I would ever earn back my followers or my views, but I'm getting there.  I know I have the same amount {if not more} of followers that I had around this time of year last year.  :)
  9. American Girl: American Girl is so amazing.  It's a creative outlet and a great way to meet new friends, through the internet AND in real life!  I am so grateful to have my four gorgeous dollies.  ;)
  10. The American Girl Fan Message Board: Through this amazing, wonderful, spectacular, message board, I have met amazing girls, learned to love my dolls EVEN more, fall more in love with dance than already, and even get closer to God.  The American Girl community is so warm and welcoming, I am very happy to be a part of it!
  11. NaNoWriMo: Man, NaNoWriMo is SERIOUSLY one of the best things I have ever done.  I wrote like a maniac, and accomplished my goal of 9,000 words, then went on to do over 2,000 more words!  :D  Through the forums I have met lovely people that I really have enjoyed getting to know.
  12. Music: The world would be rather dismal and depressing without music.  I listen to music when I write, when I do homework, when I'm bored, when I dance, and even more!  It's a way to bond with family in the car, those hours of driving to and from dance with my mom, singing together.
  13. Instruments: I'm very lucky my parents let me play the French horn and piano.  They are a large part of my life and I enjoy them both immensely.  :)
  14. Books: Man, what would I do without books?  I love to read them, AND write them!
  15. Pointe shoes: Go ahead and call me crazy, but I absolutely ADORE pointe shoes.  There's just something about them that makes you feel beautiful and elegant.
  16. Ghillies: My Irish dance shoes are too special not to include on here!
  17. Tap shoes: Loud, clear, sounds coming out of these normal-looking shoes . . . so beautiful.  :)
  18. My classes: The dance classes I teach . . . oh, I love these little girls!
  19. My room: I love my room.  It's bursting with inspiration and color.
  20. My desk: I just rearranged it yesterday and cleaned it and such, and I'm really happy with how it turned out!
  21. Snow globes: If you didn't already know, I collect snow globes.  :)
  22. Clothes: I love the clothes I have, and feel really lucky to have them.  Not everyone is so lucky.
  23. My teachers: My teachers this year are pretty great.  I really enjoy them and my classes!
  24. Hot chocolate: This time of year, I love to sit around and sip hot cocoa.
  25. Cameras: Whenever I see a DSLR, I clutch my mom's arm and say, "LOOK AT THAT PRETTY CAMERA!"  Hehe, hint hint.  ;)
  26. Holidays: Holidays are so much fun, being with family, huge meals, and giving thanks.
  What are you thankful for?

When I Grow Up

{{A response to Hannah's post.}}

  When I was little at my preschool graduation, one of my teachers stuck a microphone in front of my mouth and asked me the question, "Carolyn, what do you want to be when you grow up?"

  I graciously took the microphone out of her hands and loudly proclaimed, "I wanna be a mermaid!"

  I heard the adult's quiet laughter in the room, but I just smiled as the clapping echoed through the church {the school was basically part of a church} and walked towards the stage where the rest of my classmates were standing.  None of them found it odd, rather normal, actually.  Still, everyone else said pretty stereotypical children's occupations, a ballerina, a police, a fire fighter, a teacher, but a mermaid was my dream.

 A few years later, new town, new school, my last year of preschool.  I wanted to be a veterinarian.  Little did I know that I had to do a lot of things with animals that I wouldn't be able to stand.  That dream faded away quickly.

  In kindergarten, my friend and I planned on growing up and doing all the same things.  We had who we were going to marry planned out, our kids' names, and our jobs.  We'd live in the same town and do the exact same thing.  When my dream job changed, hers did, too.

  Our first dream job was going to Iraq to serve in the military.  Not exactly a normal kindergarten girl's biggest wish, right?  Well, her dad was in the war at the time, so we wanted to be like him.

  Next we wanted to work at Shamu.  Our other friend had this dream, so we decided to copy her.  Again, DEFINITELY not a normal dream.

  Finally, we decided to choose our own jobs.  She wanted to be a ballerina and I decided to be a teacher, and let me tell you, I wanted to be a teacher for a long time, on and off whenever I started enjoying something else.

  In second grade my friend and I wanted to be masseuses together.  You know, the people who gave massages?  Yeah, that was our career choice up until third grade.  It quickly went back to a teacher, though, for quite a long while.

  Finally, just last year, my ideas started changing immensely.  I wanted to do something with dance.  Something with dance really bad!  So I decided I wanted to be a professional dancer.

  Later I decided I might not want to spend so much time away while being a professional dancer, so I changed my ideas to a dance teacher.  The thought had always been in my mind, but I was thinking there must be something cooler out there.

  I personally want to still be a dance teacher, but I'm not sure if that's what will happen.  For sure I want to be an author.  When I write, I can express myself so well, and it's not something I really have to think about.  The words flow from my pencil on to the white paper, or from my fingers on to the blank screen.  This is the reason I love blogging so much.

  Just lately I haven't been so sure what my job will be, probably because my mom and I were talking about what we think my job will be, and she wasn't so sure.  It made me less certain of what I wanted to be, but I don't need to worry about it quite yet, I have time, and God at my side.

I was Boo{ed}! {Plus OTHER rAnDoM stuff and a Birthday!}

{{PLEASE read to the end, especially if you're BRITTS!}}

  Yes, that's right, I was INDEED Boo{ed} by none other than Renata!  {Check out her blog!}  It's really pretty fun, if you get boo{ed} {through a comment}, you get the button above {which you can get on Chunkey Monkey} and put it on your sidebar, then Boo someone else!  Then you're done until someone else boos you.  ;)  Simple, right?

  Anyways, besides being booed, nothing much is new.  I Delilah actually just made a REALLY long post on their blog if you want to check it out.  ;)  We also posted a poll, so PLEASE vote on that after reading the pros and cons of each doll in the post.  :)

  OH!  Here's something else exciting!  Renata {man, she's popular in my post today!  XD} and I re-created our dance blog!  Get the Pointe is now up again, so PLEASE CHECK IT OUT!  We're getting our design from Britts soon, so no worries on the ugly-ness.  ;)

  Well, today is going to be a pretty normal day.  :)  I got to sleep in for the first time in what seems like ages.  Every Saturday I assistant-teach at my {dance} studio at 8:30 in the morning, so I obviously have to get up pretty early to get in my leotard and tights, do my hair, eat, and get my dance bag ready.  Usually we go to church on Sundays, but we didn't today.  :P  It's not a great thing, but it was nice to sleep in until 10:10 instead of 7:30 for church!  {{Yeah, we only have an 8:30 mass . . . we're a small church.  XD}}

  But anywho, I'm going to Nutcracker practice today, and I have a costume fitting!  :D  Woot woot!  {{It's a Quinny thing.}}  We're going earlier, though, to shop a bit.  We live in a small town where the only places to shop for clothing are Walmart and the dollar store.  XD  Yeah, we have to travel quite a bit for clothing.  Well, Walmart *sometimes*.  I'M NOT ASHAMED TO ADMIT THAT I THINK THEY HAVE SOME CUTE GRAPHIC TEES!  XD

  Today is someone really special's birthday.  Who is that, you ask?  Why, Brittany-Amelia, or as I call her, Britts!  So, here's my {second!} birthday message to her:

Dear Britts,
  Happy birthday!  Today is a special day for you and for all of your friends and family. You've gone through another year of being Britts.  ;)  You are such an amazing friend and truly ARE one of my best friends in the entire world, even if I've never met you and you live far off somewhere else in this big world {like, maybe AUSTRALIA?!  XD}.  :)  I've known you for over a year now and we've always had so much in common that we're obviously twins separated at birth that don't have the same age.  It's just OBVIOUS, isn't it?  It's crazy to think you're fifteen, I hope it's a year full of love and laughter {and Dr. Who and Horrible Histories because I know you love that stuff so much even though I have no idea what either are really about!}.

  Well, Britts my dear, I love you SO much and I hope that you have an AMAZING day, and year being 15.  ;)

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥,
Caro
